Wow. So much has happened in the past week. First, we've decided to put our house on the market. We both have almost an hour commute and we want to live closer to town. So for the past week we have been decluttering, packing ad staging. We are meeting with a realtor this weekend.
Yesterday was my first day back at work all week. My office building had an electrical fire early Monday morning. I was getting ready for work when my stepdad called and told me that my building was on fire and that I should probably check the news. There was an electrical fire in the basement. The sprinklers flooded the basement and knocked out power to the building. We have been transferred to another building. My group got lucky and we are in cubes in the basement. Other people are stuffed into conference rooms with just enough room for their computer and sitting on metal folding chairs. I went to the old building this morning to pick up some papers. The bottom floor smells like burned tires. They've got huge hepa filters all over. One elevator is running on a generator so only three or four people can go at a time. I rode the elevator up to my floor but walked the eleven flights down. They say it could be three months before we are back in the building.
Speaking of work, I have a job interview on the 20th. It's at another bank doing pretty much exactly what I do now. I found out that the person interviewing me is my boss's former boss and she can't stand him (my boss). I don't know if that's good or bad for me.
My sister in law's baby shower is this weekend. I'm not going. My mom asked if I was going and when I said no, she replied, "you really need to go". Obviously she doesn't get it. In still not going. I don't think my mental health can take it.
I've got other news with regards to what is next for us on our IF journey, but I'll keep it for another post. I need to get back to work.

I attempted to go to my sisters baby shower a few months ago and broke down in the bathroom. I didn't even enter the room where the shower was being held. If you are not ready, don't go.
The work situation sounds crappy! Hope it gets fixed sooner than 3 months.
My Mom would tell me the same crap about a baby shower.. but you know yourself better than anyone.. don't go. I went to one a few months ago, got drunk and cried for the next week because of it. :) Not a good thing.
Hope your home sale goes well.
Wow about putting your house up! Good luck with that. I hope the job interview goes well!!
Where are you guys looking to move to? I would loveee to move a little closer to work, but still stay out of Jefferson County.
If you don't want to go to the baby shower, then don't. Don't let anyone guilt you into it either. Only you know what is best for you.
