I am not happy with my clinic right now. We've been calling for a week asking about when we were going to get the calendar and when we should make a pre-cycle appointment. We got the calendar on Saturday. It was mailed on Friday. According to the calendar, I'm supposed to stop BC today (Sunday) and go in on Tuesday for baseline monitoring. Full payment is due Tuesday. Thursday I start the microdose Lu.pron. This schedule puts egg retrieval tentatively 4/27-4/30.
We've got a few problems with this. We can't pay on Tuesday. It involves shifting money and transferring accounts which takes at least a week with the bank for it to clear. I also wanted to discuss with them my work schedule. I have an important report due the 1st of each month. If we could delay the schedule by a week or so it would put retrieval about a week after when my report is due which would help out tremendously. We also have issues with getting meds. They wanted us to apply for Fertility Lifeline's Compassionate Care program to see if we qualify for free g.o.nal f. We've done everything as quick as we can, but we haven't even gotten the application in the mail (we had to get insurance to verify no coverage and they wouldn't fax the application. If we don't qualify for free meds, they will be at least $5,000 if not more. Ugh. I just can't stomach that.
So I've left a message with the IVF coordinator to tell her I won't be stopping BCP today. If I understand correctly, I can just continue the birth control until it's time to start. Is this right? Last time we did IVF, I was on BCP for three weeks, not two like this time.
So that's the deal right now. My luck, the coordinator will call me back while I'm taking my SAS certification test tomorrow. It's from 10-12. The coordinator is notoriously hard to get on the phone and does not return phone calls like she should. Especially when we're giving them thousands of dollars.
But here's my schedule before any date changes. It appears I'm taking levels of foll.istim appropriate for a horse.
4/13 - Suppression Check
4/15 - Begin Microdose Lu.pron (every 12 hours daily until HCG) and Dexamethasone (1 tablet at bedtime daily until HCG)
4/18 - Stim Day 1 AM Injection: 225 IU Foll.istim and 75 IU Men.opur
PM Injection: 300 IU Foll.istim
Continue stims for 10 or 11 days
4/27-4/30 - Tentative Egg Retrieval
Embryo Transfer is 5 days later
Pregnancy test is 14 days after Egg Retrieval
So that's the schedule for now. It will change tomorrow after we talk to them.
I have to get back to studying. I HAVE to pass this test tomorrow. Luckily, my boss gave me the rest of the day off.

The lack of information given by your clinic would make me pretty angry too. It seems like they don't really care about you. Like you are just another patient doing another IVF. It doesn't sound personal at all, which is now what I would want or expect from a doctor when I'm paying thousands of dollars for this procedure. I am angry for you guys.
I seriously hope you start getting the attention you deserve.
